Whiskerino: King BeardBeard growing movement / Project type: Editorial and Packaging
Project: Senior thesis, involving the beard movement called Whiskerino.
Problem: Whiskerino has been around since 2003. Hundreds of participants who all grow beards together but never really got to re-live or have a place where they can look back on about their experiences they had during the 4 month process. The users wanted to be a part of something, but didn’t realize that this would form relationships, brotherhoods, or even cause a huge movement in the beard growing community.
Solution: Create a book that captures the creativity, the movement, the emotions, and the experience so it can bring attention of people that growing a beard isn’t just to be different, or to have fun, but to change someones life, open windows to being creative, all while creating new friendships in a social environment. Everyone who participated can look back on the memories and share together as they did when they were involved in this four month long process. This book also gives the opportunity of bringing awareness to the participants that what they did changed someones life, and motivating others by showing their creativity everyday.
